HomeJournal ("we", "us") is a small product built for homeowners. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as we reasonably can.
Information we collect
- Waitlist email. When you join the waitlist, we store your email address so we can send you product updates and early-access invitations.
- Account data. If you create an account, we store your email and any home, asset, or maintenance information you choose to add.
- Usage data. We collect basic, aggregated information about how the site and app are used (such as page views and device type) to improve the product.
How we use information
- To operate and improve HomeJournal.
- To send product updates, early-access invitations, and important account notices.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your home or maintenance data with advertisers.
- We don't send marketing email beyond what's needed to keep you informed about HomeJournal.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted third parties to run HomeJournal — for example, hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers only process your information on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality terms.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@homejournal.app.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from product emails using the link in any message we send.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of HomeJournal may not work as expected without them.
Children
HomeJournal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
